Update on the New Game from Naughty Dog

Everyone knows that Naughty Dog is working on a new game because of all the job advertisements. Nevertheless, speculation regarding Naughty Dog's upcoming title indicates that player open-ended gameplay freedom will play a significant role. This is straight out of Ben Hanson's MinnMax show, where he got this information from someone who claimed to know about Naughty Dog's upcoming project.

Although Hanson did not disclose the title, the insider stressed how incredible it would be and likened it to another game renowned for player freedom. While Naughty Dog has dabbled in more open-ended gameplay in games like Uncharted: The Lost Legacy and The Last of Us Part II, they intend to take it to new heights with this upcoming project. Furthermore, a job advertisement from August said both first- and third-person perspectives could be considered, which could mean that Naughty Dog is willing to try out other types of gameplay.

Naughty Dog has become known as one of the most prominent studios in video game history. So, I believe it's fair to say that most people anticipate them to do big things. I have no problem with them exploring new ideas and taking risks, but it's obvious they're under a lot of pressure to produce a successful new IP for their next release. Eventually, we'd like to see The Last of Us Part III released, but I suspect that they're aiming to introduce a new IP before diving into that one. Since each developer has their own ideas for how to take the plot and gameplay from The Last of Us Part II to The Last of Us Part III, it seems like the best thing to do would be to give them additional time between the two titles.

Despite the lack of information, recent games that give players a lot of freedom, such as Elden Ring or Tears of the Kingdom, could be good examples. Regarding the quality of their games, Naughty Dog has clearly earned our trust. Fans had conflicting feelings about the plot of the previous game, but no one could deny the game's impressive technical qualities, including its excellent gameplay and animation.
