World War 3 Is A Modern Military Shooter Coming To Steam Early Access Later This Year

The Farm 51 has unveiled World War 3, a multiplayer FPS said to boast "the most authentic bullet vs. armor system in the FPS genre to date". Of its two modes, Warzone will focus on "large-scale combined arms battles with infantry, armored vehicles and drones", while Recon is a tactically-oriented approach to the battle royale genre in which players "cooperate within small reconnaissance squads left on their own to survive and capture high-value targets in hostile territory.".

World War 3 will focus on teamwork, while featuring a weight system, full body awareness and extensive customization options. An "interactive war map eventually covering the entire planet." will keep track of the results of each battle. The title is said to play a strong realism card, offering "accurate depictions of weapons, uniforms and equipment of national armed forces" and maps based on real-life locations. The developer has stated that World War 3 will not contain paid loot boxes or pay-to-win elements. Check out the announcement trailer which features game engine footage.
