Chrono Odyssey has launched in its beta phase, offering a vast open world ripe for exploration and adventure. This guide offers some essential tips to help new explorers understand the game's mechanics, navigate efficiently, and enjoy the experience without getting lost.

Within each part, tips are given to ensure you're fully prepared for your trip to the Chrono Odyssey world.

Optimize Graphics and HUD Settings

Change the graphics settings to limit the frame rate and stop it from dropping all of a sudden. Setting the frame rate to a steady number, like 60 FPS, makes sure that the performance is the same in all parts of the game world.

Turn off the HUD that disappears in the game's settings so you can always see your health, resources, and tasks. Also, make sure the crosshair stays visible so you can aim and fight accurately.

Acquire Gathering Tools Early

Upon arriving at the first beach, follow the coastline path to reach the village hub. Enter through the gates and locate the vendor within the town.

Purchase the essential gathering tools—Sickle, Pickaxe, Logging Axe, Butcher Knife, and Fishing Rod—using the coins earned from initial quests.

NPCs marked with a gold circle above their heads provide quests that reward additional coins if funds are insufficient.

Utilize Fast Travel and Respawn Mechanics

Stone waypoints are spread out around the world, and you can interact with them to open fast travel spots. On the map, these stones have a unique sign that can be used when they are visited.

Also, talking to the right NPC in the tavern of the central hub opens another fast travel point that can be used every ten minutes. As a last option, you can choose to respawn when you die. This sends your character back to town and lets you start over quickly when exploring dangerous areas.

Obtain a Mount Quickly

A mount significantly improves travel speed. From the starting village, bypass the activated fast travel stones and continue along the path until the horse icon appears on the map.

Speak to the NPC beneath the canopy with a gold quest marker. Complete the quest by interacting with a white horse until the mount is tamed.

Now return to the NPC, spend the required horseshoe item, then equip the mount (default key E) and summon it using the mount key (default T).

Craft Green Weapons and Armor at Level 5

Upon reaching level 5, visit the armor and weapon crafting stations in West Wind Hills' hub. The armor station, identifiable by workbenches surrounded by suits of armor, allows the crafting of green-tier armor using lumber and iron ingots.

The weapon station offers green-tier weapons tailored to each class. Review item stats carefully before crafting, then gather materials by mining iron ore and chopping mature wood for sturdy lumber.

Complete Bounties for Valuable Rewards

Interact with the bounty board in the hub, marked by a skull-and-crossbones icon, to accept wanted posters. Skip the Tomb Raider Arlo bounty, which is known to bug.

Choose alternate targets to earn bounty tokens and other materials. Spend tokens at the NPC who redeems bounties for accessories and materials usable at level 15 and above.

Salvage Unneeded Gear

Excess equipment can be salvaged for crafting materials. Locate the salvage NPC in the central hub, indicated by a broken shield icon. Interact to dismantle unwanted gear and reclaim valuable resources for future crafting and upgrades.

Use Warehouse Storage

Different kinds of items quickly fill up the inventory room. The warehouse in the hub (chest icon) is a safe place to put things. Don't throw away gear or materials; the warehouse has plenty of space for storing stuff for future use and making.

Prepare for Trials with Proper Gear

Trials unlock after completing sufficient quests and are marked by a minecart icon on the mini-map. Each attempt consumes a trial key, which is challenging to replace upon failure.

Ensure gear is upgraded to the appropriate level before entering to avoid wasting keys and to secure the best possible rewards.

Bonus Tip: Answer Melody's Questions Correctly

A questionnaire shows up when you meet the NPC Melody. It's easy to move forward if you pick "Unending Cycle," "Revere and Respect Chronos", "Help Others Accept Their Fate", "Embrace the Past", or "Significant Events Throughout History". You'll get a prize, and the quest will move forward after you fill out the form.

Challenge Chronos Gates When Ready

Chronos Gates offers engaging challenges that test your skill and gear. The first gate can be attempted at level 5 with green-tier gear, while higher gates may require level 15 and blue-tier equipment.

Range classes benefit from distance attacks, while melee classes must master blocking and dodging to mitigate damage. Success depends on understanding enemy patterns and maximizing cooldown usage.

Initial Impressions of Beta Performance and Combat

During beta testing, hub areas had noticeable performance problems. Frame rates would often drop below 40 FPS, even with the settings set to "medium".

Light contrast can look harsh and washed out if you don't have high-end gear. When you have the right choices and strong hardware, the graphics and performance are better.

It's fun to get better at blocking, parrying, and managing cooldowns because the combat is deep and includes auto-attacks, active skills, and delay effects. For different ways to play, skill trees offer both passive and active upgrades for each class's two guns.
