Choosing the right Blood Code is the best way to define your skills and power. When you keep one equipped, you slowly fill up a proficiency bar.

Once you finish this bar, you should go back and speak to the Partner who gave it to you. Most of the time, they will hand you a better version of that same Blood Code.

These higher versions give you better stats, which means you get more Health, hit harder, and become more effective in every fight in CODE VEIN II.

Evolving Your Combat Style

It is easy to get used to one Blood Code and never take it off, but switching them often is much better for your character. Not every Blood Code has a better version—especially those you get from a Boss—but many do.

Since your Weapons do more damage based on your stats, getting a better Blood Code can suddenly make a sword or spear much stronger than it was before. Constantly leveling these up ensures your damage stays high as the game gets harder.

Building Bonds at Magwell

To find new Blood Codes, you should spend time talking to the people at MagMell. Most of the named characters there have a Blood Code to share if you just take the time to chat with them. While you are there, you can also give them Gifts.

Doing this gives you a special currency you can use to trade with them for new items or Crafting Recipes. These characters often have their own Quests for you to finish as well in CODE VEIN II.

Between the Present and the Free Explore Era, checking in with your friends is the best way to unlock everything they have to offer.
