Dead Cells features many crossover costumes from popular indie games so that players can cosplay as famous characters. These costumes are acquired by completing challenges in the games based on each particular game.
This guide documents every crossover costume in the Everyone Is Here patches and acquiring each.
Volume 1: Initial Crossover Outfits
The first book had six crossover costumes. They are challenges that ask players to do something particular to the gameplay in book one.
To unlock Luchador Outfit in Guacamelee, you must kill a Corpulent Zombie with a melee-based boots such as Spartan Sandals, Spiked Boots, Hayabusa Boots, or Hayabusa Gauntlets. To unlock Penitent Outfit in Blasphemous, you must use the Face Flask when you are low on health and mimic Blasphemous' self-damage mechanics.
The Magician's Outfit in Hyper Light Drifter is acquired by first equipping the Drifter Outfit and subsequently by purchasing the Hard Light Sword. The Little Bone's Outfit in Skul: The Hero Slayer is found near the entrance of the Graveyard. In order to reach it, players have to ground smash a certain gravestone near spikes.
To earn Hollow Knight's Outfit of the Vessel, you must first obtain the Pure Nail and bounce it eight times in a row of objects or enemies. Finally, Outfit of the Explorer in Curse of the Dead Gods is rewarded for a trap-damage-less full run. This is a challenge of precision and vigilance that demands careful navigation through each level.
Volume 2: The Second Collection of Crossover Outfits
The second update for Everyone Is Here introduced six new crossover costumes with unique interactions based on their source games.
The Ironclad Outfit in Slay the Spire is obtained by collecting three special keys. The Emerald Key is obtained in an Elite Room, the Ruby Key is purchased at the Food Shop, and the Sapphire Key is found in a Choice Altar.
Terraria's Familiar Outfit has you use the Prisoner's Quarters with the Cavern Key and throw a backpacked item into the lava with the Homunculus Rune.
The Shovel Knight Outfit in Shovel Knight is obtained in High Peak Castle by shattering a painting of Shovel Knight with a Shovel. The JZero costume in Katana Zero is obtained after you land 15 consecutive dashing attacks with Hattori's Katana without taking a hit.
Anytime you are hit, you have to restart so that it is a challenge that is both challenging and rewarding.
The Modernized Bomber Outfit in Hotline Miami is obtained by breaking a door to stun an enemy and then killing that enemy with a Baseball Bat. The Commando Suit in Risk of Rain is obtained by finding and touching a certain altar and two shadow imps who need to be defeated.
