Every vendor in Death Stranding 2 features its reputation system, represented by star ratings. Reputation increases by delivering packages and depositing specific items. 

Reputation can be raised through two primary methods: locating random items scattered across the map or by directly claiming Field Orders from the vendor. As reputation grows, star ratings improve, unlocking exclusive rewards tied to each vendor’s offerings.

Unlocking the Nousagi Hat

To obtain the Nousagi Hat, the following steps must be completed:

Travel to the Data Scientist vendor—available once progress reaches Chapter 2 or Chapter 3.

Deliver packages and complete Field Orders until the vendor’s reputation reaches a full two‑star rating.

Upon achieving the two‑star milestone, the Nousagi Hat unlocks automatically and becomes available for collection.

Once unlocked, the Nousagi Hat will increase overall stamina, reducing the rate at which it depletes and enhancing performance during extended treks and mission-critical tasks.

Each vendor in the game offers its own set of secret unlocks, encouraging further exploration and reputation-building throughout the world.
