Wailing Blade is among the best legendary swords in Enshrouded, with high damage potential for its relatively low starting stats. Its starting stats may appear low on the surface, but the weapon is really effective during early and mid-game when upgraded to a suitable level in Enshrouded.

Starting the Quest

Travel to Ancient Spire Springlands and glide down toward the Woodgard region. You would find a clear-cut path to the Ancient Vault with The Alchemist in Enshrouded.

While going towards the vault, you'll notice some Scavengers that you need to kill first. Be very careful, as these enemies have explosive weapons with them.

Prioritise enemies in your path over killing them all. Your sole objective is to locate a piece of paper containing information on the Blade.

Clear the area, and afterwards look for a note that pinpoints the location of the hidden Stash. This message on the note will lead you to a nearby cave system where you can loot the Wailing Blade.

Navigating to the Hidden Stash

From the vault location, find the cave entrance with a question mark on your map. You can either glide or just walk into the cave. Upon reaching the Scavenger Stash, there'll be a lot of enemies that you'll need to kill.

Be cautious of the large explosive trap set in a different position in the cave. If the explosives are triggered, the damage radius is big enough to kill you in Enshrouded.

Be extremely careful when moving through this section, and leap around to prevent triggering them by accident.

After eliminating all the enemies, you can loot their bodies, as they carry useful Metal Scrap and other essential resources in Enshrouded.

Claiming Your Reward

After clearing the area, proceed deeper into the cave system to locate the treasure chest containing the Wailing Blade.

The Wailing Blade deals 14 base damage with a damage type focusing primarily on cutting and piercing rather than Blunt damage.

Finishing up this mission also grants you 75 experience points and the weapon, too, so it is definitely worth it for not too much effort.

The Wailing Blade even has a special glowing effect that illuminates in the dark when travelling at night or cave-exploring.

Post-Acquisition Recommendations

After looting the Wailing Blade, you can proceed to the Bazaar if it's already in your base. The NPC will sometimes give you more information or upgrades for new weapons, but not always.

The weapon's upgrade increases damage significantly, making it an excellent choice for both beginning and long-term gameplay.
