By following the steps below, you will learn how to unlock Magic Chests, craft them, gather the necessary Shroud Spores and Shroud Liquid, and finally deploy the Magic Chest to streamline crafting and resource management from anywhere within the base.

Unlocking Magic Chests

The Magic Chest feature does not require defeating a boss. Once the Small Storage Chest is unlocked—likely through interaction with the Blacksmith—the Small Magic Chest recipe becomes available.

This recipe grants Universal Storage, meaning any item placed in the Magic Chest can be accessed for crafting at any crafting station within the base.

Making a Magic Chest

Crafting a Magic Chest requires one Small Chest, 15 Shroud Spores, and 15 Shroud Liquid. To create the Small Chest, gather six wood logs and six nails at any workbench.

After getting these items, go to the crafting menu and put the Small Chest, Shroud Spores, and Shroud Liquid together to make a Magic Chest.

How To Get Shroud Spores and Liquid

In the Shroud biome, you can find both Shroud Spores and Shroud Liquid. Shroud Spores are dropped by killing Shroud enemies, and Shroud Liquid can be gathered from small fungus growths that are spread out in the area.

You may also harvest Shroud Liquid by attacking these fungal pods with a Felling Axe. It is efficient to gather both resources during a single excursion into the Shroud, ensuring sufficient stock for multiple Magic Chest crafts.

How the Magic Chest Works

Once it is set up, the Magic Chest stores all of your things in one place. Any crafting station can easily use resources that are put in the Magic Chest, so you do not have to move materials by hand.

For example, placing Shroud Wood, Mycelium, or Metal Scraps into the Magic Chest will allow the Blacksmith and other crafting stations to pull directly from it, freeing up inventory space and centralizing resource management for base construction and crafting.
