Nidum is the melee archetype in Gatekeeper's roster, which means players have to fight adversaries up close. This character is great at cutting through groups of adversaries and staying alive by healing themselves.

Nidum's playstyle demands positioning and timing, as you must balance aggression with survival in the heat of combat.

Nidum Abilities
Your attack is a close-range slash, so you need to get up close to groups of enemies. Consider grabbing extra defenses to help with that approach. Because it's an AOE, you can cleave through many enemies and enhance this to create combo strikes where certain hits become much stronger.
If you want to add range damage, use Nidum's second ability, Circular Claws. You throw a circular vortex that flies through enemies. This does light damage if you only hit once, so reposition yourself after throwing it to get it to fly back through as many different enemies as possible. Think of this as a repositioning minigame.

Cleaver, your third ability, deals damage but you should primarily use it to escape enemies. Landing all that damage at the end isn't worth it versus saving the dash for when you need to get out of something or away from a boss. As a melee character, some boss mechanics can be melee-unfriendly, so approach them with caution.
Ritual, Nidum's fourth ability, is absolutely powerful. You fire crows that heal you after firing, and they deal more damage with the first upgrade. You can get more crows by taking the third upgrade. This is almost always what you should max first.

Nidum's passive is Blood Lust. You have a chance to gain a damage bonus when hitting enemies. If you stay constantly in combat, this buff stays up, otherwise it falls off quickly.
Nidum represents everything you want in a melee archetype. You can get up close to enemies but also blast everything around you with decent range using abilities like the crows and the secondary attack.
