Helldivers 2 Guide | How To Defeat Chargers

Chargers are one of the toughest enemies you can face in Helldivers 2, especially in the earlier stages of the game. These heavily armored units can be frustrating to deal with, but with the right strategy, you can take them down efficiently; this guide will explain how, whether you are in a squad or even if you're solo.

Understanding the Charger's Weakness

Chargers are almost entirely covered in thick bulletproof armor making them resistant to most of your attacks. The bullets tend to ricochet off, grenades deal minimal damage, and fire has very little effect on them. However, Chargers have a tail that acts as their Achilles heel. 

Focusing your attacks on the tail is key to bringing down a Charger. When you're in a squad, one member can distract the Charger while others target its tail, and for solo players, understanding the Charger attack patterns is crucial.

How To Solo A Charger

If you face the Charger alone, you will want to dodge it properly. Standing still or running in circles will lead to you getting hit. Your best chance at a Charger is to wait for it to charge, then Dodge to the side at the last moment; this will give you an opportunity to attack its tail. 

If you're lucky and the Charger crashes into a rock or an obstacle, you'll have more time to repair the damage. Timing the Dodge properly is the key to success.

Using standard weapons like an assault rifle will take you too long to defeat a Charger. You might want to rely more on powerful tools like Expendable Anti-Tank, which you unlock at level 5.

Two well-placed shots at the tail can quickly take down a Charger. Alternatively, you can also call in a Hellpod strike during respawn, which is just as effective.

Mastering these techniques will make dealing with Chargers easy. Proper timing, targeting the weak points, and using the right weapons will be the keys to success.
