Here’s a beginner’s Guide on some gameplay tips and tricks in Marathon.

You need to know how the zone works if you want to make it out alive. This guide covers how to handle your Weapons, find Loot, and stay away from UESC patrols. Use these tips to stay stocked on Ammo and keep your gear ready for the next fight.

You need to watch your map because some Contracts only work in certain zones. If you are lost, move your cursor over the Contract goals on your screen to see where to go.

You can open a Mod Workbench by looking at your Weapons when you are not in a run. If you get too hot, try Crouching to cool down faster.

Fighting Tips

You can get the UESC to stop chasing you by hiding in Smoke. Some Weapons have extra features like Alt. Scopes or Gun Shields that you can toggle Marathon

Aiming for the head is important. Headshots give you 50 to 140 percent more damage based on what Weapon you have. If you need Healing Items, look inside Containers found far out on the outskirts.

Ammo Tips

If you use Sponsored Kits, you get Ammo Crates automatically. Do not just look for loose bullets on dead bodies. Look for Ammo Crates on them too.

You can save your shots by using a Knife on the weaker enemies. You will find more Ammo in Containers if you search the edges of the map.

Armory Tips

Check the Faction Shops often Marathon because they change what they sell. You cannot buy everything with Credits. Some items require you to Barter using Loot you found.

You can Track the Loot you want so it shows up clearly when it drops during a game. If you have Unstable materials, trade them in to get more Ammo or Healing Items.
