Future Content and Updates

Everything released after the game launches will be free for all players. This includes new maps, Runner Shells, and weapons. You do not need to pay extra to access any of this content as it arrives each season in Marathon.

The only things that cost money are items for your appearance. Plans are already in place for the first season to introduce new gear like weapons, Implants, and a fresh Runner Shell.

There is also an event coming that features a night version of the Dire Marsh map. Additionally, a new Cradle System is on the way. This will let you have more control over the specific strengths and weaknesses of your Runner Shell.

Getting Used to the Loop

Starting out can feel tough because losing your gear really hurts if you are not used to this type of game. You might feel like quitting after a bad run, but eventually, you will have enough equipment that losing a single set does not matter as much.

This risk is what makes every match exciting. You never know if the people you meet will be friendly or if you will work together to kill a Boss. When you start, try taking on Rook Runs and focus on learning the Perimeter first. Try not to be greedy with loot in Marathon.

Since the game resets every 90 days, it is never too late to jump in. If you feel like others are too far ahead, you can always wait for the next seasonal wipe to start fresh with everyone else.
