PEAK Guide | How to Do Advanced Climbing Easily

Here's an easy advanced climbing guide

Mastering movement is key to survival in PEAK. Small differences in stamina management and timing can greatly affect how efficiently one climbs or travels through difficult terrain.

Below is a breakdown of essential climbing and movement techniques to improve performance on every run.

Jump vs. Climb

When you approach a flat wall or surface, jumping before starting a climb doesn't make much of a difference compared to climbing directly.

A standard climb drains around 15 stamina, while jump-climbing uses about 16. The change is minimal, so either method works fine for simple surfaces.

Double Grab Lunge

The Double Grab Lunge is one of the most effective climbing tricks. Normally, climbing drains stamina until the character can't reach higher.

However, if the grab button is released and pressed again right before running out of stamina, followed by pressing the boost key, the character lunges upward for extra distance.

Instead of letting go and grabbing again, you may do the same thing by simultaneously hitting Spacebar and Shift.

This technique is helpful for advanced climbs or time-sensitive locations because it enables access to ledges or heights that are often out of reach.

Neutral Jump

Another important moving ability is the neutral jump. Jumping is the first step, and Shift is the second. When stamina is low, this action is important since it uses just half the typical stamina cost.

For instance, a neutral leap provides just enough energy to cover the distance without being exhausted, which is useful when a climb cannot be completed because running depletes all available stamina.

Climbing becomes more efficient and fluid when combined with the Double Grab Lunge.

Spam Jumping

Waiting for stamina to recharge takes time, but spam jumping can reduce downtime. Repeatedly jumping while recovering stamina keeps the movement going instead of standing still.

This will keep momentum and help you cover ground faster when exploring or escaping cold zones.

Jump Down vs. Fall Down

It is as necessary to know how to properly descend as it is to climb up. Even from high drops, fall damage can be avoided by jumping down. However, substantial damage can be caused by just stepping off edges or falling naturally.

To reduce danger when falling, it is always preferable to leap first. Whether you survive a lengthy drop or lose critical health depends on this technique.

Rope Spool — The Underrated Tool

The Rope Spool is one of the most useful items for safe and efficient climbing. You have to begin by climbing partway up a wall, then place the rope spool directly on the wall. Once it's attached, it can be climbed without consuming any stamina.

This setup also provides safety. If a fall occurs, the rope can be grabbed again midair to prevent fall damage. Pairing this with a Piton, which is used to rest and recover stamina, will allow for much longer climbs without risk.

Rope Climb Cancel

While holding a rope, you can cancel the rope animation by jumping. Repeatedly pressing both the grab and jump keys rapidly results in a much faster climb. This trick, known as Rope Climb Canceling, greatly increases vertical speed and is consistent once mastered.

Efficient climbing and movement in PEAK rely on small but powerful techniques. The Double Grab Lunge and Neutral Jump help save stamina and reach higher ledges, while Spam Jumping and Jump Down strategies improve survival and movement flow.

The Rope Spool and Rope Climb Cancel offer safety and speed for long climbs. Mastering these tricks makes navigation through the game's harsh environments far smoother and more controlled.
