Here’s a guide on how to turn on the Carcosan Device in Blighted Marsh in Saros.

After you clear a few rooms in Blighted Marsh, you will come to a staircase that goes up to a big building.

At the top of these steps, you will find Alab. He is a member of Echelon IV who went missing. He is a bit distant, but he has a deal for you. If you get rid of the enemies and get the bridge working again, he will give you an enhancement for your suit.

Finding the Illuminated Generator

Once you finish talking to him, keep following the main path. It is not a very long walk. You will pass through a Solar Cage room and arrive at the bottom of a tall tower that looks like a spire. Walk around to the back of this tower to find the entrance in Saros.

Take the elevator up. Once you are at the top, you will have to jump across broken pieces of machinery to reach the very peak. In the middle of the room, near some resource containers, you will find the Illuminated Generator.

Activating the Bridge and Learning to Parry

Pick up the Illuminated Generator and the teleporter behind it will turn on right away. Use it to warp back to Alab. When you get there, talk to him and put the Illuminated Generator into the nearby slot. This will raise the bridge so you can cross the gap.

By doing this, you also automatically learn the Parry ability. You can use this by pressing R1 just as Nova projectiles reach you in Saros.

If you time it right, you will send a shockwave back at the enemy to hurt or stun them. This is a very important skill because you cannot dash through or absorb those red Nova shots.
