Silent Hill: Townfall Guide | How to Get into the Control Room

The Control Room in Silent Hill: Townfall is located inside SWDP – Different during Part 6: Simon. Restore power, find the JOE Key and Access Card, and use the card to unlock the Control Room.

Restore Power

After entering SWDP – Different, restore electricity before you can access the elevator or Control Room.

Take the stairs on your right down to the lower floor.

Follow the hallway and enter the small Generator Room.

Interact with the red handle on the generator.

The generator will start and restore power to the facility.

Be ready for the large enemy that appears after activating the generator. It cannot be killed, so quickly make your way back upstairs. You can use the Flare Gun to temporarily stun it if it blocks your path.

Get the JOE Key

With the power restored, return to the upper floor.

Go left toward the elevator.

Call the elevator and ride it to Level 1.

Head toward the back-right side of the area.

Enter the room and check the table to find the JOE Key.

Get the Access Card

The Access Card is inside the locked JOE Room.

From where you found the JOE Key, head toward the southwest side of Level 1.

Use the JOE Key to unlock the JOE Room.

Enter the room and move through the opening into the adjacent area.

Pick up the Access Card inside.

You may also see an AUX Door nearby, but you cannot use it yet. It becomes relevant later in the Remote Systems Control section.

Enter the Control Room

Once you have the Access Card, return to the main area.

Head back toward the Clamps.

Take the stairs beside the Clamps.

Follow the path to the large locked shutter.

Use the Access Card on the card reader.

The shutter opens, allowing you to enter the Control Room.

A cutscene plays after you enter, and the next objective becomes Relive the events on CCTV. This begins the Remote Systems Control puzzle.

Final Thoughts

Getting into the Control Room is mainly a progression puzzle. Restore the generator first, use the elevator to find the JOE Key, unlock the JOE Room to obtain the Access Card, then use the card beside the Clamps to open the Control Room.
