Silent Hill: Townfall Guide | Release the Clamps from the Control Room

The Clamp Release Puzzle in Silent Hill: Townfall takes place in the SWDP – Different Control Room during Part 6. Before you can release the clamps, complete the CCTV sequence and manually open Valve F. Then configure the Clamp Release panel using the Clamp Release Procedure document.

How to Release the Clamps

Open Valve F

Before using the Clamp Release panel, you must open Valve F.

Complete the Remote Systems/CCTV sequence.

Use the CCTV to unlock the Valve F door.

Leave the Control Room and head to the Valve D–F Room.

Find Valve F and turn it manually.

Return to the Control Room.

After opening Valve F, collect the Clamp Release Procedure document from the printer beside the Remote Systems console.

Solve the Clamp Release Puzzle

Interact with the Clamp Release Control Panel opposite the Remote Systems console.

Set the controls as follows:

Balance – Tension L: Intermediate

Balance – Tension R: Intermediate

Notify – Self: On

Notify – All: On

Run Off: Disengaged

Clamp Connection: D71

Report: 1, 3, and 6 On

Pressure Control: Set

Intubate Flow: None

Battery One: B

Battery Two: C

Turn on only these three Report switches:

1 - ON

3 - ON

6 - ON

Leave the remaining Report switches off.

When all the settings are correct, the green Release button will begin flashing.

Press Release

Press the flashing green Release button.

The clamps will release, but the puzzle is not finished yet.

Turn the Red Crank

Leave the Control Room and head downstairs to the released container.

Find the large red crank/wheel.

Interact with it.

Turn the wheel to complete the release mechanism.

The container will be lowered, confirming that the Clamp Release Puzzle is complete.

Final Thoughts

The Clamp Release Puzzle becomes simple once you have the correct settings. The important combination is D71, Reports 1/3/6, Battery B/C, both Balance controls on Intermediate, and both Notify switches on. After pressing Release, turn the red crank downstairs to finish the puzzle.
