When you begin Spider-Man: Miles Morales, you enter a system built on the structure of the earlier Marvel’s Spider-Man game. The scope is smaller, but the mechanics remain central to your progress. This guide presents core points that support your early actions and help you use Miles’ tools, progression routes, and mission flow.

Finish Spider-Training Early

After the opening missions, Peter Parker directs you to a set of holographic Spider-Training tasks. When you complete the related mission, more training points appear on the map. Each one teaches a mechanic and grants a new ability when finished for the first time.

Completing Combat Challenge 2.0 with an Amazing rating unlocks Payback, which allows a Takedown after a Perfect Dodge against a ranged strike in Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales.

You may repeat challenges for Activity Tokens, but higher scores become easier once you gain levels and upgrades. Focus on finishing each training task once before repeating it.

Using Venom Abilities Frequently

You do not have the gadget set used by Peter Parker, nor do you have a constant special ability. Miles uses Venom moves that activate when you hold L1 and press a face button. These moves are often unused if you forget them, which leads to wasted Venom energy. Use your energy as soon as it fills.

Venom Smash lets you hit surrounding targets and leave them open. Venom Jump lifts nearby targets into the air and sets up aerial follow-ups. These actions form the base of your combat flow. Combat becomes harder if you ignore them, so use Venom moves whenever you gain energy.

Finishing Story Missions First

The campaign contains 15 missions. Most missions grant equipment or unlock new side tasks. Advancing the story early gives you access to tools and map activities without returning to earlier sections. This lets you clean up each district in a single visit, rather than having to travel across the map in Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales.

Using Camouflage

During an early mission, Miles gains access to Camouflage, which turns him invisible for a limited period. You can use it to break contact, reposition, or strike targets that are not aware of your location.

You can also stop the pace of combat. If a target with a shield comes toward you, use camouflage to remove the shield and keep attacking safely. Try using camouflage in combat and while moving around until you find a pace that works for you.

Responding to Crimes

To obtain suits and gear, you need Activity Tokens and Tech Tokens. Tech Tokens appear through select collectibles, while Activity Tokens come from optional tasks, including crimes. You do not need to clear every crime in a district.

Through the FNSM App, you can select the crime category you want. The game then marks it for you. If a random crime appears while you are moving toward a mission, you can ignore it and handle crime events later through the app in Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales.

Scan Often and Stealth

Pressing R3 triggers a scan pulse that marks objectives, interactable objects, enemies, and hidden items. This includes locations connected to secret Trophies, such as the memorial statue of Stan Lee or Miles’ father's gravestone.

As you move through the city, scan frequently to detect objects that are not visible through normal movement.

In this game, you can clear a base without triggering waves of backup. If you remain unseen and eliminate every target, the encounter ends. If you are detected, reinforcements arrive, and the encounter becomes a direct fight.

Even if you used only combat in the earlier game, attempt stealth here. The system supports complete base clears without alerting the area in Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales.
