Stardew Valley Guide | Best Gifts for Abigail

Sometimes the best gifts aren't the most expensive ones.

Stardew Valley lets you give gifts to the townspeople of the Valley to better your friendship with them. Usually, being friends with the villagers has a few perks; however, the most likely reason to give them gifts is to pursue a romantic relationship with one of them. You can also just seek to be friends with them. Regardless, gifts are the best way to earn hearts- the value that indicates friendship.

You can only give two gifts to each villager every week. This means that you only get two chances each week to improve your relationship with them. With hundreds of items, it is somewhat difficult to ascertain what gifts they might like. While it is fun to figure things out through trial and error, as the game marks what gifts they like or dislike, it is also useful to just know their preferences. This guide will show all the best gift options for Abigail and how to get them.

Best Gifts for Abigail

Now, there are quite a few items that Abigail likes the most. However, not all of them are really worth it as gifts. Generally, gifts are split into 5-tiers: Loves, Likes, Neutral, Dislikes, and Hates. Sometimes, it is also worth it to get some Likes items.

It should also be noted that the quality of the goods you give as gifts will also increase the points you get from them. However, it is always better to give a higher-tier gift than a better-quality gift.

  • Abigail loves the following gifts: Amethyst, Banana Pudding, Blackberry Cobbler, Chocolate Cake, Monster Compendium, Pufferfish, Pumpkin, and Spicy Eel.
  • Abigail likes the following gifts: Combat Quarterly, Basilisk Paw, Bone Flute, and Ancient Sword.

However, things aren’t that simple since most of her loved gifts are rarely worth it. All of the cooked food items require multiple farm upgrades to unlock reliably, and while Amethysts can be found, they are pretty rare. This leaves Pufferfish and Pumpkin as the best items. Pufferfish can be found by fishing for them during the day on the beach.

They are an ocean fish, and while you’ll probably not get a lot of them, you can reliably get at least one or two every week. As for pumpkins, they are one of the most expensive crops, but by the time you get to grow them, you will probably be an established farmer with money to spare. However, you are limited since they only grow in the fall.
