Where Winds Meet Guide | How To Complete The Veil of Love Disguise Quest

The Veil of Love quest in Where Winds Meet introduces the disguise system, which can feel confusing the first time. You must put on a special disguise, track a key character, and obtain the Jade Sachet needed to progress. 

The process is the same as other disguise quests in the game, so once you learn it here, you can reuse the steps later. In this walkthrough, you see how to find the target, use Windsense, get the portrait, put on the disguise, and finally claim and use the quest item before the timer runs out.

How To Start The Veil of Love Disguise

To begin the Veil of Love disguise section, head to the new area marked for the quest on your map and approach the target character. 

This person stands in one of the newer locations that unlock for this mission. Speak to this character to trigger the objective. After the short dialogue, the quest tells you to use Windsense to interact with the backpack the character is carrying.

Hold the R3 button to activate Windsense, then move the cursor to the character and select them. This highlights the Jade Sachet in the backpack. You can try to ask for the item, but the character will not give it to you at this point. Instead, the objective updates and tells you to return to the nearby shop.

Returning To The Disguise Shop

Once the objective changes, follow the marker back to the Disguise Shop. The shop is conveniently located right next door, so you do not need to travel far. The quest text tells you to return and question the Shopkeeper.

If the game sends you to a different Disguise Shop in another area, do not worry. The process you follow is the same. Simply head inside the building marked with the mask icon on your mini-map and look for the Shopkeeper behind the counter. Speak with them to continue the quest.

The Shopkeeper explains that a portrait is needed to create a proper disguise. Without a clear description, the disguise cannot convincingly copy the target’s appearance, so your next task is to obtain that portrait.

How To Get The Portrait For The Disguise

Leave the Disguise Shop and head around the corner, following the quest marker. You should see the target character that the disguise needs to imitate. Stand directly in front of this person and wait for the interaction icon to appear, allowing you to copy their description.

Activate the prompt to start a small portrait mini-game. In this mini-game, you line up the picture of the target’s face so that it matches the guide outline on the screen. 

Adjust the image until the game signals that the alignment is correct. When you hit the proper position, confirm the portrait to save the description.

During this part, you may hear some background lines and flavor dialogue, but they do not affect the gameplay. Focus on lining up the portrait correctly so the disguise can be crafted. Once the portrait is confirmed, the quest directs you back to the Disguise Shop.

Putting On The Disguise

Return to the Disguise Shop and speak with the Shopkeeper again. Because you now have the portrait, the Shopkeeper can finish preparing the disguise. At the bottom of the screen, you receive a prompt letting you put the disguise on as long as the description is already collected.

Confirm the prompt to equip the disguise. As soon as the disguise is active, a 15-minute timer appears. You have this time limit to finish the current disguised objectives related to Veil of Love. The disguise lets you interact with certain characters in a new way, including the original target holding the Jade Sachet.

If needed, you can manually remove the disguise at any time by holding the Start button. However, leaving the disguise early while you are still in the middle of the quest may cause the mission to fail. In that case, you would have to repeat parts of the process, so it is safer to keep the disguise on until the quest steps are complete.

Using The Disguise To Get The Jade Sachet

With the disguise equipped, return to the character who has the Jade Sachet. Use Windsense again so the game recognizes that you are interacting with the correct item and target. Once Windsense highlights the Jade Sachet, speak to the character and choose the option to ask for the item.

This time, because you are wearing the proper disguise, the character hands over the Jade Sachet without any resistance. 

You now hold the item in your inventory, and the character no longer carries it. The quest log may still mention using Windsense, but at this point the important step is to use the item from your bag.

Open your backpack by pressing the Start button and navigate to the Quest Items tab. If you do not see the Jade Sachet there, check the All tab, because the item often appears in that section even though it is tied to the quest. Once you locate the Jade Sachet, select it and confirm to use it.

After using the Jade Sachet, the associated appearance unlocks for your character. This completes the core disguised objective for Veil of Love.

Turning In The Veil of Love Disguise Quest

When the Jade Sachet has been used and the appearance is unlocked, return to the Shopkeeper at the Disguise Shop to wrap up the quest. Speak with the Shopkeeper and follow the remaining dialogue to turn everything in.

At the end of Veil of Love, you may hear commentary about how so-called infatuated men only recognize the face and not the heart, and you may be asked whether the admirer is trapped by appearance or by feelings. 

The Shopkeeper praises you as a sharp young wanderer and reminds you that, if you ever run into trouble, you can come back to the shop for another disguise. This closes out the disguise section and prepares you for other missions in Where Winds Meet that reuse the same disguise process.
