What do you need to know about Devil May Cry V

Devil May Cry V launches next week but there are some things you should about this latest installment. This long-awaited sequel has some new elements to it that players should be aware of. Here are 5 things you should know about Devil May Cry V.
5. 3 Playable Characters
Devil May Cry V will include 3 playable characters. This includes Devil May Cry 4's Nero, veteran demon hunter Dante, and newcomer V. Nero is much more relaxed than in his debut adventure but still sports the Red Queen sword, which can be charged up, and his magnum the Blue Rose. Unfortunately, Nero has lost his Devil Bringing arm and uses an array of mechanical ones, some which operate like his original Devil Bringer while others can shoot beams of energy or propel him into the air.
Dante has been shown to play like his Devil May Cry 4 version. Remaining loyal to his style changing to access different abilities such as Swordmaster, Trickster, Gunslinger, and Royalguard.
V is a new warrior who uses the help of demon familiars to battle for him. He's different from Dante and Vergil as he relies on his familiars and lacks defense.
4. Music Reflects Performance
The ranking system of Devil May Cry has always been core to the gameplay, granting extra bonuses for higher ranks. Now in Devil May Cry V, your performance will reflect what musical score is played.
3. Red Orbs Are Still Here
If you're new to the Devil May Cry series you should know that there's a progression system here. Players can earn Red Orbs to purchase new abilities and items, with some unique to certain characters.
Too many players annoyance, there are in-game microtransactions where players can purchase these orbs. Capcom has stated that this won't affect gameplay or increase the orbs needed for purchases but is an option for players who need an extra boost. But the same thing was said about Assassin's Creed Odyssey's experience boosters and does seem like a slippery slope.
2. Multiplayer
This feature has been hinted at but will play similar to cooperative games. Players can make guest cameos in another player's game, like a ghost recording, and depending on your mission you can see the other player in their section while the events you're playing through are happening.
It's a great idea, showcasing this grand adventure where all 3 of these characters indirectly interacting with one another during their own experience.
1. No Story DLC, Blood Palace Confirmed
Those hoping for story content will be sadly disappointed. It has been confirmed that Devil May Cry V won't include story DLC but the challenge mode Bloody Palace will come as post-launch content. For those unaware, Bloody Palace is a challenge tower with increasingly harder enemies and trials provided to the player. It was confirmed that if the demand is high enough Trish and Lady could join the ranks, which also confirms that they won't be playable within the core game which is a shame.
Devil May Cry V launches on March 8th for Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
