There is no other video game series that is as iconic or as recognizable as the Shin Megami Tensei spin-off series, Persona. The Persona series is well known for its mix of RPG mechanics as well as Social Simulation. Persona 5 was released back in 2016 and many fans have been asking where the next game is or when it is coming. It looks like fans don't have to wait as long as they thought, according to a well-known Atlus Leaker, Persona 6 is aiming for a 2025 release along with a few other perona projects.
This may come as a surprise to a few but we did get confirmation that Persona 6 was in the works back in July of 2021. Sadly, that's all we got, confirmation, as Atlus has shared next to nothing about the game whatsoever. There have been countless rumors circulating online since the announcement with many of these apparent leaks suggesting that the game was aiming for a 2024 release but the most recent leakk begs to say otherwise.
The leak in question comes from none other than Midori, or MbKKssTBhz5 on Twitter. Midori is a well-known leaker, who in the past, has been right about several previous leaks. The leaker recently stated that Persona 6 will be releasing sometime in 2025. This does make sense as previously; it was stated by an insider that the game would be announced in 2024. Once again, we have no official confirmation from Atlus, so the same with every other leak - take it with a grain of salt.
Along with confirmation that Persona 6 will be coming in 2025, we also got confirmation about several other Persona and Shin Megami Tensei spin-off titles such as the party-based Persona game only known by codename “Asa”, which according to the leak, will be coming sometime in 2024. Along with “Asa”, it is stated by the inside leaker that Atlus is working on another title that could involve the Shin Megami Tensei franchise. It is likely that this project won't be connected to the Persona series and might be the next Shin Megami Tensei game or a brand-new spin-off.
While yes, we still need confirmation from Atlus to prove that these projects are legit, it should be noted that Midori has been correct in the past. If these leaks do turn out to be true, then it is a good time to be a Shin Megami Tensei and Persona fan.
