The Forza franchise is known for delivering some of the best racing experiences in video games today, and now the series has surpassed over $1 billion in sales.
In an update from Microsoft, the retail sales of the franchise reached $1 billion in retail sales between November 2012 and January 2017. This includes sales from across the series, both Motorsport and Horizon. Last year Forza Horizon 3, the latest game in the franchise, hit 2.5 million units sold.
Microsoft stated on Xbox Wire:
Since the beginning, Forza has combined stunning graphics, racing’s leading simulation engine, and an emphasis on fun and accessibility,” said Phil Spencer, head of Xbox. “With the Forza series, Turn 10 Studios has built the world’s largest racing community. We couldn’t be more proud of their success.”
Forza Horizon 3 is now available on Xbox One and Windows 10.
