Warcraft 3: Reforged Has Fans Angry, Claiming Ownship of all Custom Games
Blizzard makes another unpopular move
News by Grayshadow on Jan 31, 2020
Blizzard Entertainment has been hitting wall after wall for years now. With the Diablo Immortal announcement leading to one of the most infamous quotes in gaming "Do you not have phones", the banning of BlitzChung for conveying support for the protest in Hong Kong, and now the release of Warcraft 3: Reforged.
First off, the game's cutscenes are not on par with what was shown at BlizzCon 2018. Players were expecting newly designed cutscenes but instead got massively downgraded cutscenes. Other issues include connection issues, unable to log into the single-player, and removed the original infrastructure. Currently, the game is sitting at a 1.2 user score on Metacritic with a lot of tasteful reviews.
Blizzard also owns everything made in the game. This means that those who make the content won't get credit for the content created. Which has been going over well with the community with a lot of incredible memes.
Those seeking a refund are having a taxing time getting one. Those who took to online Blizzard forums to inform how to obtain a refund are reporting they're getting banned. This hasn't been fully confirmed but there are so many accounts it's starting to make traction.
Overall Warcraft 3: Reforged is another black mark on Blizzard's recent track record. As the company, similar to Bethesda, was once beloved. But recently decided to make a lot of unpopular decisions that contradict what this company once stood for. Placing quality above everything else.
