Chinese developer Game Science surprised us all with the release of Black Myth: Wukong, proving to the West that they, too, can make games of the highest quality. If not as hyped as Black Myth: Wukong, AI LIMIT, a new action RPG from yet another Chinese developer, Sense Games, which will be their first project, has been on the radar for action RPG fans since its announcement back in 2019.
AI LIMIT was initially scheduled for a release sometime in 2024, and the publisher has announced that a limited-time demo will be released for the game. It may not look as spectacular from a budget and scale standpoint as Stellar Blade, but it does look fairly good. The publisher CE-Asia, however, has announced that from October 14 to October 21, we will have the chance to try out a limited-time demo.
Featuring the full first level, "Sewer Town Southwest", the AI LIMIT demo is available as part of Steam Next Fest: October 2024 Edition and will take about two hours to finish. The level serves as a training ground for spells and spell frames, as well as a location to find weapons and other equipment, and the gameplay revolves around combat against regular enemies, elites, and bosses. If you complete the level, you will be rewarded with a hidden, extra level that can be unlocked. This level will have a new boss and battle system excluded from the "Sewer Town Southwest" demo.
Just in case you didn't know, the events of AI LIMIT unfold in a far-off future where humanity is on the brink of oblivion. The last city, Havenswell, is the destination for those who believe in the Elysium legends. Playing as Orisa, an immortal blader, you will venture across the city's ruins in search of a way to start over in this sci-fi action RPG set in a post-apocalyptic wasteland.
Throughout the game, you can unlock more powerful weapons by combining them with your skills and boosting your sync rate with brave attacks and smart defenses. You can take advantage of the dynamic back-and-forth between attackers and defenders by using the transformation mechanism in your left hand to cast various spells, attacks, and assists that draw from various systems.
AI LIMIT is a next-gen exclusive, which means it's only releasing on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. Its visual presentation is respectable, considering the scope of the game. AI LIMIT's release date on Steam is set for 2024, which is unlikely to happen, given the demo coming out this month. We can almost certainly expect this game to be a 2025 release.
