As the community of Baldur's Gate 3 grows bigger and bigger, fans are always looking forward to new updates. To spice things up, several modders have been actively working on the game, and the official mod manager for Baldur's Gate 3 has received over 100 million downloads. If this continues, Baldur's Gate 3 will soon top the list as one of the most modded games ever. Obviously, Skyrim and Fallout 4 may be difficult to beat, but at this point, you never know.
This much popularity of a game obviously attracts attention, and a group of scammers has been promoting Baldur's Gate 3 on App Stores so that you can play it on mobile devices. You might find it in the iOS App Store, which is completely fake. Seriously, if you encounter something like this when exploring mobile stores, do not join up or try to download it. Baldur's Gate 3 will most likely never make it to mobile devices. If that ever happens, it will be done through proper channels like Baldur's Gate 3's official website.
Downloading or purchasing a random pop-up of Baldur's Gate 3 on the App Store would entail paying for a membership to something you can't even use. Apparently, this scam costs $30 every month. These scammers also mention in their terms of service that they will gather your information, including your IP address, which is very scary.
When this reached out to Larian Studio, that is, Baldur's Gate 3 on mobile devices, they shut down speculations of an iOS version arriving in 2025. Michael Douse, Larian's Michael Douse, reacted by saying, "Your source is silly." As in, no, Baldur's Gate 3 isn't coming to mobile—not now, and probably never. Unless Wizards of the Coast and Hasbro decide to send the game to another developer for porting, this will not happen.
However, following the positive feedback from the community after Baldur's Gate 3 Patch 7, Larian Studio is working on a new patch for the game, which might bring a lot of players back into the game. Their next Patch 8 will add more capabilities to the game, including an actual photo mode. They are also adding crossplay, which will allow you to play with your friends who are using a different platform. Baldurs Gate 3 Patch 8 will also add 12 new subclasses, which will very certainly increase the number of players in Baldur's Gate 3.
Larian Studio is currently stress-testing the Baldurs Gate 3 Patch 8 before releasing it. Swen Vincke, CEO of Larian Studio, mentioned that the stress test will presumably take place throughout January, and they are inviting as many people as possible to participate. If you're playing the game on either of the platforms, you can visit Larian's official website and apply to join the test.
