This guide will be the roundup of all the archetypes we have so far, including the secret ones and the ones you start with.
The Starting Archetypes
Medic, Hunter, Challenger, and Handler are the starting archetypes. You can select any of these to start the game. However, once you select one, you can also purchase the other archetypes.
The Handler can be bought from Mudtooth for 1500 scrap.
The Challenger can be purchased from Reggie for 1500 scrap.
The Hunter can be obtained from Brabus for 1500 scrap.
The Medic can be purchased from Dr. Nora for 1500 scrap.
Starting with the Medic and wanting to pair it with the Challenger, buy 1500 scrap from Reggie to unlock both archetypes.
Summoner
The Summoner is available on Yasha. You need to collect 15 Blood Moon Essence, which are little purple orbs found in the Forgotten Grove and other outdoor areas. These orbs appear only when Yasha is in a Blood Moon cycle, indicated by a giant red moon in the sky.
If the red moon is not visible, the orbs will not appear. To farm these, reroll Adventure Mode until you get a Blood Moon cycle. Once you have 15 Blood Moon Essence, find a Blood Moon Altar, purchase the grimoire, take it to Wallace, and unlock the Summoner.
Gunslinger
The Gunslinger has a time gate; you cannot unlock it until you beat at least the second world in Remnant 2. After completing the second world, talk to Mudtooth and keep asking him to tell you stories until he runs out. You will receive the Gunslinger Band, the Gunslinger Amulet, and eventually the Worn Cylinder. Take the Worn Cylinder to Wallace to unlock the Gunslinger archetype.
Explorer
The Explorer archetype is the most straightforward to unlock. Beat the game on any difficulty to receive a Broken Compass. Take it to Wallace to unlock the Explorer archetype.
Engineer
The Engineer is found on Nehrude. It is hidden on a secret path of the second overworld, which could be the Eon Vault or the Timeless Horizon. Look for a tall, spiky spire on the right and a rounded cliff on the left.
Between them will be an area covered in deadly fog. Enter the fog, vomit, recover, and then jump across a gap to another cliff where a dead body holds the Engineer’s armor. Turn left, drop off the cliff to another dead body, and collect the Alien Device. Take the Alien Device to Wallace to unlock the Engineer archetype.
Archon
The Archon is the most complex archetype to unlock and requires data mining to discover. You need a very specific set of gear, weapons, and items to gain the Corrupted status effect. Once you have the correct loadout and the Corrupted status effect, go to the Shifting Portal in the Fractured Ingress in The Labyrinth. Follow the path and look for the portal.
When the portal image appears, count to three and enter. You will land on an invisible platform. Run straight, defeat two enemies, and enter the portal room with a giant red Corrupted door. Use the Biome Key to unlock the door and enter the Backrooms. Once inside, use the Explorer’s Fortune Hunter skill to locate three items, including the Strange Box, which unlocks the Archon archetype.
Invader
To unlock the Invader archetype, you must first acquire the Dreamcatcher melee weapon. Then, head to Root Earth, the final realm of the game. Progress to the first checkpoint of the giant ship, then follow a path leading to a large open area with a sleeping Walker covered in blue mist. Eliminate nearby enemies, then use the Dreamcatcher to melee the blue mist.
This action grants you the Walker’s Dream. Equip it in your quick slot and use it to enter an alternate reality. Return to the open area, where a giant red boss, a Walker named Bane, will appear. Defeat Bane to obtain the Wooden Shiv, which unlocks the Invader archetype.
Alchemist
The Alchemist archetype is found on Loathum. To unlock it, you must be captured by a creature in a sewer drain. While exploring the Open City of Loathum, specifically in Ironsboro, look for sewer grates. If you approach one, either nothing will happen, or a creature will grab you and drag you inside. If dragged inside, you will land in a bone pile.
Kill the creature that captured you to obtain a Mysterious Stone. Take this to Wallace to unlock the Alchemist archetype. If you go through this process indoors, you will receive an armor set and a ring instead, so ensure you are in an open outdoor area.
