Black Ops 7’s Massive Gameplay Reveal Is Finally Here at COD Next

From multiplayer chaos to zombie mayhem and Warzone surprises, COD Next is set to deliver everything you have been waiting for.

We’re officially less than a day away from one of the biggest Call of Duty reveals of the year. Black Ops 7 is about to get its first major gameplay showcase at COD Next, and this event will finally answer your questions. Whichever COD mode you may be into, that doesn’t matter; this is shaping up to be one of those events you’ll want to catch live. Fun fact: there’s even a way to get free beta access just by tuning in; we’ll get to that later.

Multiplayer. What y'all have been dying for. So far, we’ve only seen highly produced trailers, those polished pieces designed to hype you up without really showing gameplay. But COD Next is promising something much more raw. We’ll see creators actually jump into matches live, giving us our first genuine look at how Black Ops 7 really plays.

It’s not quite hands-on, of course (you’ll have to wait for the beta), but it’s the closest we’ve gotten to gameplay so far. Treyarch devs will also be doing a deep dive into multiplayer, and based on some teasers, camos are going to be a major talking point this year. For the first time ever, camo grinding will be on every mode—multiplayer, Zombies, Warzone, and even the campaign. Treyarch devs have been hinting that “camo grinders are going to be eating” this year.

Another multiplayer highlight coming to the event is the brand-new mode called Overload.

COD has described it as a 6v6 objective-based mode built to test both your combat and your teamwork. A short trailer dropped earlier this week showing how each team has two zones to protect while trying to attack the enemy’s side by securing objectives into their territory. It looks competitive, the kind of mode that could become a favorite. COD Next will show us how it really plays when creators jump in live.

But of course, Call of Duty isn’t Call of Duty without Zombies. Treyarch is bringing a fresh Zombies map into the spotlight, and COD Next will give us our first taste of it with live gameplay. Don’t expect the entire thing to be played through (Activision doesn’t wanna spoil you too much), but we will see how the new setting works. The Treyarch Zombies team will also be on hand for a feature deep dive, and the reveal should clear up a lot of the mystery around how Zombies will connect to the rest of Black Ops 7.

The real wild card: Warzone.

Warzone is the most mysterious mode here. We know that live gameplay will be shown and that developers from Raven Software, High Moon Studios, and Beenox will be leading the discussion. These teams have a history of working on Warzone maps, including Fortune’s Keep and various Resurgence maps. You have to beg the question of if we’ll see a new map or not then. Activision hasn’t said anything specific about that.

Leaks suggest that a new Resurgence map tied to Black Ops 7 will be coming with Season 1 later this year. The rumor is that it’s an expanded version of Liberty Falls, which sounds strange but not completely unrealistic given that Rebirth was also based on a reworked Zombies map.

Last year, COD Next teased Area 9 ahead of time, so the lack of a map announcement this year is hmmm… questionable. That being said, it does add to the suspense, and it wouldn’t be surprising if Warzone ends up being the biggest surprise of the whole event. Whether we’re still running around Verdansk or stepping into something completely new, COD Next will give us answers.

If all this wasn’t enough for you, we can also tell you that anyone who tunes in to the broadcast for at least an hour will unlock multiple rewards, including a calling card, emblem, weapon charm, and even a beta code (as mentioned earlier) for Early Access to Black Ops 7. That’s a huge deal considering the only other way to get Early Access right now is to pre-order the game. You must know the Black Ops 7 pre-order drama already, so I won’t bore you with it, but if you wanna give it a shot before release, well, you can now.

COD Next is shaping up to be a massive event for Call of Duty fans.

We’ll get our clearest look yet at multiplayer, a proper preview of Zombies, and what’s next for Warzone. The timing couldn’t be more important either. Treyarch has been listening to feedback, which means the pressure is higher than ever to deliver, especially with all the bad press Black Ops 7 is getting. Tomorrow, we’ll finally see it all come together. This is the day that sets the tone for Black Ops 7’s entire run.
