It wasn't a surprise when Fortnite hit $1 million in sales when it hit mobile markets within in a week. And it's doubtful anyone is surprised that Epic Games and People Can Fly's Battle Royale free-to-play game now surpassed $15 million in revenue on the mobile marketplace.

According to Sensor Tower, after lifting the invite-only beta the game surge in player count. Increasing the game's profits and passing titles such as Candy Crush Saga and Pokemon GO.

Earlier this week, Epic Games threw open the gates to its previously invite-only mobile version of Fortnite, allowing all iOS users to not only download, but actually play the game—and, most importantly, start spending money in its item shop. Sensor Tower Store Intelligence data shows that lifting the invite requirement resulted in a 197 percent, or approximately three times increase in player expenditure on Monday, April 2, versus the $620,000 average across all previous days, totaling more than $1.8 million for the day.

Considering the updates constantly being introduced to the game and being free-to-play we can expect Fortnite to continue its uphill momentum towards one of the biggest games in the world.
