It seems that the release date for Mafia: The Old Country has been leaked for August.

We might have found out the release date for Mafia: The Old Country a little earlier than planned. In a blog post from 2K, the game's publisher, the release date, August 8, 2025, was mentioned. However, they quickly removed it. Still, fans saw it and shared it online before it disappeared.
Gematsu even posted screenshots of the original post, so it's clear that the release date is probably real, even though 2K hasn't officially said anything yet. This makes sense because 2K and the game's developer, Hangar 13, are holding a big panel at PAX East on May 8. That's when they will most likely announce the official release date and even show us some new gameplay.
A little backstory on Mafia: The Old Country was announced eight months ago. It's a prequel to the first Mafia game, which means the story happens before the original. This time, we're going way back to the early 1900s, in Sicily, Italy, in a made-up town called San Celeste.
You play as a man named Enzo Favara, who's trying to survive and earn a spot in the Cosonastra, a powerful crime family. The game will show how organized crime first started in Sicily and how tough life was back then. If you've played Mafia II or The Mafia: Definitive Edition, you might recognize the town's name. It's been mentioned before, but now we finally get to visit it.
To make the game feel even more real, the developers are adding full voice acting in different languages, such as English, French, German, Spanish, Czech, and Russian. They're even adding Sicilian voice acting, which helps to set the mood and make everything feel more real.
If you're planning to watch PAX East, you'll also get to hear from some of the people behind the game, like Nick Baines, the studio president; Alex Cox, the game director; and Tomas Rybicek, the cinematic director. They'll be sharing more about how the game was made and what to expect.
If the leaked date is true, Mafia: The Old Country will be released on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC. It's a deep, story-driven experience about the early days of the mob, and we won't have to wait much longer.
