Mafia: The Old Country Guide | How to Find and Defeat Mazzone

This guide explains how to locate Mazzone, approach the encounter, and secure a Shotgun if available. It assumes familiarity with basic movement and combat mechanics. It focuses on practical steps to move through the forest, handle enemies encountered en route, and deal with the boss when the confrontation begins. Follow each section to increase the chance of finding Mazzone and overcoming the encounter reliably.

Finding Mazzone

Make your way through the forest while scanning for movement and silhouettes. At times, a distant figure may appear and seem like Mazzone, but often that figure will be a Spado. Stay observant and be prepared to identify whether the target is the boss or a regular enemy.

Approach: Stealth or Direct Combat

You have the option to take a stealth approach or engage openly. If enemies spot you, the stealth option is lost, and direct engagement becomes necessary. When stealth fails, continue to push forward and prepare to deal with Mazzone and the surrounding foes.

Searching for Equipment

Search the area for a Shotgun before engaging the boss. Shotguns are not guaranteed to be immediately visible — check around ruins, near stairs, and along the path you follow. If a Shotgun is available, equip it to improve close-range effectiveness against Mazzone and other enemies.

Moving Through the Ruins

Keep advancing toward the ruins and climb the stairs that lead deeper into the area. As you move up, clear enemies in your path and check corners and cover for hidden foes. Reaching the top of the stairs and the ruined area commonly leads directly to the boss encounter with Mazzone.

The Encounter with Mazzone

Mazzone will be waiting for you when you get to the ruins and stairs. Shoot accurately, especially up close if you're using a shotgun, and hide to avoid being hit by enemy fire. Maintain pressure, move methodically, and finish the engagement by focusing on landing decisive hits until Mazzone is defeated.

Avoid extraneous actions unrelated to the encounter (such as rewarding or distracting onlookers); focus on clearing the path, securing a Shotgun if present, and methodically advancing through the ruins until Mazzone is located and defeated.
