Manor Lords is one of the city-building strategy titles that involves enormous battle tactics and an incredibly advanced economic system within a fantastically looking medieval world. Since it dropped into early access in April 2024, Manor Lords has done incredibly well, selling more than a million copies in its first 24 hours.

Slavic Magic, the studio behind Manor Lords, haven't rested on their laurels. They've been making regular updates, like a pretty major Manor Lords patch in January that did some pretty substantial changes to the gameplay.

Manor Lords Update, Final Release

Slavic Magic has teased huge gameplay overhauls in its next update. Manor Lords players can expect a new map, a complete overhaul of the progression system, and a whole lot more. Manor Lords devs just showed us what's coming to the game with a Steam update, and there's plenty to look forward to. Among the big additions is a new map to fight on, Devil's Hill, which contains an enormous peak that looms over the battlefield.

The areas around them border the battlefields, and the devs are even conceptualizing a game mode where the players compete for the costly resources on top of the hill, which would result in some intense rivalry. Manor Lords' Castle Planner is also being improved with lots of enhancements. Players would be able to adjust the individual modules and walls, and they'd be able to add platforms with battlements as well.

Moreover, the other important Manor Lords overhaul on the horizon is revamping the progression system. Several players have commented that the current development tree is a bit imbalanced and less immersive than it could be. In response, the developers are remaking it and trying out different designs and concepts, though this has proven challenging.

They are trying to balance history and realism and make it fun. The team is already on its fourth design document, but it's progressing slowly and steadily. In the next update, it plans to unveil more of this and other additions, including improvements to AI-managed towns.

Although only time will reveal how the game will change in the days ahead, Manor Lords has already received several new features and updates since its launch. For example, two new maps have been included, providing diverse landscapes. Fishing ponds have been added as a new source of food, and crossbows now add more complexity to combat. These updates show the developers' dedication to perfecting Manor Lords before its complete release.
