As a police officer in The Precinct, mastering the arrest system is crucial for successful gameplay and earning XP. This guide will walk you through the complete process of making arrests, from dealing with single suspects to handling multiple criminals simultaneously.

Understanding these mechanics will help you maintain law and order while avoiding costly mistakes that can result in XP penalties.

Basic Arrest Procedure

In the precinct, you have the ability to arrest people as you are playing as a police officer. To arrest someone, you need to get them to calm down.

You can't arrest someone dead, but once they've calmed down and stopped trying to attack you, or if they've just come out of a car and they're not trying to resist arrest, then what you can do is restrain them.

You can then escort them and stand them at the side of the road. What you can do next is check their ID and give them a breathalyzer to see if they're under the influence.

Then, to make the actual arrest, you need to go into the 'resolve' category. When you're in there, you need to add all of the offenses and all the crimes they've committed.

After that, you want to make your arrest. Pay attention when you are arresting people because you're going to lose XP if you get the crimes or the offenses wrong, and you're going to earn XP if you get them correct.

Then, after you've made the arrest, all you need to do is interact with the person again. You can then choose whether you want to escort them back to the precinct or if you want another unit to come out and do the escorting for you. It's nice and simple - that is, how to arrest people in the precinct.

Arresting Multiple Suspects

In the precinct, you might get a call out for more than one criminal. When there's more than one criminal or more than one suspect, you want to always chase the faster one because they're going to get away the quickest.

Sometimes, one party gives up straight away - street fights are normally quite good for two people to be arrested at the same time.

When dealing with multiple suspects and one person starts running away, you should call for officer backup as quickly as possible while pursuing their last known location.

When that officer comes in, they can help find the suspect so you can chase them down and eventually tackle them, restrain them, deal with all the interacting, get them arrested, put them in the back of a car, and take them down to the precinct.

The key strategy when there is more than one criminal is to always go for the fastest one and call in backup as quickly as possible.
