Monolith Productions' Wonder Woman Game In Trouble
The Wonder Woman game reportedly seems to be far away from being released.

Monolith Productions, the studio that delivered the Middle-earth titles, which have been among every action-adventure gamer’s all-time favorite games. When they teased the Wonder Woman game in 2021, DC fans or not, everyone was highly excited to see a game based on this popular DC character. While we know that WB Games has been struggling with several issues, it seemed to have reached out to Monolith, causing issues for the Wonder Woman game, which we anticipated we'd see this year since it was revealed about three years ago.
This anticipation, however, has been shattered by a Bloomberg post in which Jason Schreier reported that Monolith admitted to struggling to get things together early last year. Schreier seemed to have gathered this information from someone close to the project who pled not to be identified while sharing it. After the game’s directors were changed, it underwent many changes and eventually rebooted. The game has already cost more than a hundred million dollars, and it will not be released for many years.
Now, after months of deliberation, Ben Bell, Senior VP of Production and Studios at WB Games, is finally moving to their WB Games Montréal. Ironically, he suggested that WB Games should work on a game with a more recognizable character, such as the Joker or the Flash. So, they chose the superhero speedster, as fans had asked. In 2023, Warner Bros. released Flash, an expensive film starring Ezra Miller that failed at the box office. The video game has since been discontinued. That flash movie was worse than we expected. Because it caused so much damage, the Flash game was paused and canceled.
However, the community would like to see WB Games resolve the situation with Monolith with the Wonder Woman game. We can see what the Nemesis System would look like in modern technology. However, at this moment, Monolith would obviously be targeting the Wonder Woman game for PlayStation 6 or next-gen consoles. If the Wonder Woman game, however, ever makes it to console, the main challenge will be the iteration of the Nemesis System, which was patented by WB and Monolith. So, no one else can actually use that version of the system that they've built up for Nemesis.
WB Montréal is currently helping Monolith Productions with the Wonder Woman game, which is still years away. Since they are also developing a pitch for a new game based on Game of Thrones, their involvement with Monolith won’t be for too long. We, however, are fully confident that Monolith is very much capable of delivering a great game, and we believe Wonder Woman will be well-received if it is released in a few years. Otherwise, what a huge waste of time for them.
