Neverness to Everness, an urban open-world supernatural role-playing game developed by Hotta Studio, held yet another limited-scale CN Closed Beta Test on November 28. While gamers all around the world were waiting for Hotta Studio to host a Global Playtest, by the looks of it, the idea is still far-fetched. However, the wide range of new content in this new CN Closed Beta drew gamers' interest. Here are some details that Hotta Studio will be adding to the beta test.

Neverness to Everness, CN Closed Beta, Gameplay

This CN Closed Beta test added a number of additional characters who either battled with players or had pivotal roles in the storyline, surpassing the original reveal from July. Notable among the new characters are two male characters—Edgar, a member of the Eibon Antique Shop, and a playable character named Adler—who often joined the protagonists in different scenarios. New chapter bosses and anomalous commission bosses have been added to this CBT session, and they each offered their typical challenges. The bosses were varied in challenging and interesting combat.

Further details about the game's narrative were also revealed. It has a similar vibe to Zenless Zone Zero. The story of Neverness to Everness features an adventure through the ordinary lives of Hethereau, a city where humans and anomalies live side by side. The game has three chapters of major plot material and several side missions, putting you in the lively world of Hethereau.

You'll explore the complex urban life of Hethereau and find the mysteries behind the unusual occurrences that form it. While navigating the city's numerous settings and interacting with its diverse residents, you'll be engaged in a mysterious world and experience the everyday adventures of living beside strong anomalies.

What seemed most interesting is Neverness to Everness' comedic and lighthearted approach to storytelling that makes you feel more at ease, away from the serious and dramatic plots. The game also gives the game an extra dose of joy and player freedom. Neverness to Everness features cinematic animations with vibrant colors and detailed backdrops. Each animated scene is said to be capturing the character's emotional changes and the environment's ambiance.

There was a lot of excitement about the driving mechanics of Neverness to Everness on its first unveiling. New Way Car will be introduced in the CBT, allowing participants to buy or hire cars from roadside vendors, giving them more freedom to explore Hethereau's open environment as they choose.

Neverness to Everness, CN Closed Beta, Gameplay, Boss Fight

Neverness to Everness is powered by Unreal Engine 5, so the visuals, as promised by Hethereau, have great realism and detail. Hotta Studio has confirmed that the game's representation will keep things interesting. Adventuring through neon-lit streets, crowded markets, or strange, anomaly-filled regions, every scene is drawn with great detail, providing a visual treat. To add to the realism and give the city a more vibrant feel, vehicles now take physical damage when crashed, and players need to go to New Way to repair their cars.

Everything looked good so far from what we've seen from Neverness to Everness. But, surprisingly, after the last Neverness to Everness closed beta, we expected that Hotta Studio would announce a global closed beta instead of a CN-based test since there's also a huge number of fans of this game from other countries. Hopefully, they'll soon do that. Even though the pre-registration is open, you can't take part in the game unless you're from China. Neverness to Everness is among the most anticipated upcoming games to dominate the genre, so fans can't wait to get their hands on it.
