It's a highlight for fans of both franchises.

In a delightful twist, Bryan Lee O'Malley, the author of the original game, announced Scott Pilgrim EX, a brand-new co-op brawler. Capping it all off, fans were invited to join the fight in Dune: Awakening, an MMO survival game launching on June 10, with advanced access already live on Steam.

In one of the more touching parts, Geoff Keighley paid tribute to independent developers by highlighting the success of games like Repo and Schedule I, which were both made by small teams but topped the Steam charts.

His message was clear: creativity and new ideas are growing outside of traditional publishers, and Summer Game Fest and other similar events are important for people to find new games.
