Dune: Awakening Guide | How The Blueprints Work

Here's everything you need to know before you get started with base building and blueprints in Dune: Awakening

In Dune: Awakening, the Base Copy feature lets players save plan copies of any built base. You can use these plans to make something else, trade them with other players, or sell them at the Auction House.

This gives traders and creative builders an unmatched amount of freedom.

Unlocking the Solido Replicator

In the Research menu, after building a base, the player can find a Solido Replicator blueprint. This is an essential tool for making a copy of a base's blueprint and storing it so that it can be used in other places or given to different people.

Permission Requirements

Only the Owner or a Co-Owner of a base may operate the Solido Replicator—lower permission levels cannot use this feature.

Consequently, copying bases encountered in the world mandate at least Co-Owner permissions, preventing unauthorized duplication of designs.

Copying a Base Blueprint

With the Solido Replicator equipped, target the desired base and click the left mouse button to create its blueprint.

Upon successful copying, the player may choose to place the base immediately or discard the blueprint. Unequipping the tool does not erase stored blueprints—they remain available until replaced or forgotten.

Managing Stored Blueprints

Hovering over a Solido Replicator reveals the name of the currently stored blueprint. Blueprints may be stored within the replicator itself, added to personal inventory, or deposited into storage containers.

Multiple blueprint copies are achievable by crafting additional Solido Replicators, which are inexpensive to produce.

Previewing and Renaming Blueprints

Pressing Y while interacting with the Solido Replicator displays a three-dimensional preview of the stored blueprint, allowing for an assessment of its design before placement.

From this interface, blueprints can also be renamed as needed—especially useful when maintaining a library of various builds or preparing designs for sale.

Placing a Blueprint

To deploy a stored blueprint, the player must claim the target land parcel, equip the Solido Replicator, and select the blueprint. A holographic outline appears in-world, which can be walked around to confirm positioning.

Confirming placement consumes the Solido Replicator; the player then switches to the Construction Tool to fill holograms with building pieces, finalizing the replication process.

Terrain Adaptation and Limitations

Blueprint placement adapts automatically to terrain variations. For bases constructed on pillars, additional supports are generated to match ground contours. Similarly, foundations adjust to inclines by adding extra segments.

However, huge builds on restricted land claims may encounter unsupported elements that block placement.

Additionally, building on open sand invites Sandworm attacks, so flat, secure areas are recommended. Flexibility depends on base size, land claim dimensions, and terrain complexity.

Handling Unowned Building Sets

If a blueprint includes pieces from a building set not yet unlocked by the player, filling the corresponding holograms is impossible.

Funcom's intended design is to alert players upon acquisition of such blueprints, though the exact timing of this warning (purchase versus placement) may evolve post-launch.

Reselling and Copyright Considerations

Currently, there is no built-in copyright protection preventing a purchaser from replicating and reselling a blueprint design. Funcom will monitor this ecosystem after release, but at present, any player may copy and monetize acquired blueprints without restriction.
