PlayStation Plus gets DC Universe Online beta

There has been a decent amount of criticism regarding the value of Sony's Playstation Plus subscriptions for PSN since its inception. One of the great advantages of the Playstation Network is its free-to-play online policy, and PS+ flies in the face of that. However, subscribers were promised numerous perks, including exclusive beta access for select games. In October, this came in the form of multiplayer beta access to Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood. Now, the Playstation Blog announced that on December 21st, all PS+ subscribers will have access to the beta for Sony's upcoming MMO, DC Universe Online.
PS+ subscribers get to throw cars first
There is a lot of hype surrounding this MMO. Not only is EverQuest developer Chris Cao serving as the Game Director, but the user interface and fight system is said to be tailored to the console experience specifically, with combat playing out in a much more real-time fashion unusual to most games in the MMO genre. This is, of course, not to mention the popular DC license.
Aside from the DC Universe Online beta, the Playstation Blog lists a number of other PS+ perks coming on December 21st, including a full game trial of Borderlands, a free download of A Space Shooter For 2 Bucks (though that makes the title pretty inaccurate), and a slew of discounts.
