PlayStation State of Play February 2025 Update
Sony will have a State of Play in February since Sony has had a February State of Play every single year.

PlayStation started in 2025 rather robustly. During their presentation at the yearly CES convention, they pushed significant adaptations of their IP like the Until Dawn movie, a cinematic version of Helldivers 2, and most crucially, an anime adaptation based on the Legends mode in Ghost of Tsushima. And since it's almost the end of January, it is customary for this to coincide with the time we learn about a Sony State of Play event. Though we only know of one so far, last year we knew about three to start the year.
As of now, we know that Sony will have a State of Play in February since Sony has had a February State of Play every single year. Though Sony has numerous highly anticipated upcoming titles, we could see a drop in games this year—the most predictable ones are Death Stranding 2: On The Beach, Ghost of Yōtei, Fairgame$, and perhaps Marvel's Wolverine. We don’t expect to hear about Marvel's Spider-Man 3 since this might take fans' focus away from Wolverine.
The most recent estimates, however, show that Marvel's Wolverine is now somewhat well along; we also received rumors back in December that Sony was planning some kind of special presentation for Logan's solo game. 2025 will surely be the year the marketing cycle for Wolverine starts, whether for a holiday release or in readiness for a launch in 2026. We could see a new gameplay trailer featuring 10-12 minutes of in-game footage.
Sony might also reveal the new AAA game PlayStation LA Studio is developing. We predicted that this might be a similar project like Concord. So they'll want to be more careful before releaveling any detail. Because Sony also seems to be causing some major upheavals behind the scenes. They shelved two more live service games—one of which was a live service God of War game being developed by Bluepoint and another of which was the enigmatic game Bend Studio, makers of Days Gone, had in development.
The failure of Concord, which reportedly cost Sony $400 million, was directly related to the decision to cancel these projects. These things put a lot of pressure on Fairgame$ which is being developed by Haven Studios, another live service initiative from Sony that fans did not exactly have a great initial impression of. However, apparently, Sony is happy with how the game is running.
