The last decade was indeed quite important for the gaming industry as new titles were being developed and different genres of games were being experimented upon. However, it was not all different with CD Projekt Red, and they wanted one of their long-lasting titles to keep its legacy. The result, of course, ended up being Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

During and after the release, fans hyped it as a strong title and the most anticipated game from CD Projekt Red. Considering the last sale numbers revealed by developers, it seems like the players are still caring about the third installment of The Witcher.

In the recent public announcement of Polish game developer CD Projekt Red, they stated that Witcher 3: Wild Hunt amassed 50 million copies sold, and this was addressed by the numbers that were available to the public. The 50 million mark includes all platforms, both in full price and in sales.

Further information reveals that the Witcher franchise has up to 75 million in sales. CD Projekt Red CFO Piotr Nielubowicz said this makes them even more excited about the future of The Witcher, hinting at the next installment of the series, Witcher 4.

The announcement of CD Projekt Red not only mentioned the success of Witcher 3 and the Witcher series as a whole, but their latest game, Cyberpunk 2077, had been talked about as well. It was mainly about the upcoming DLC called “Phantom Liberty”, which aims to add new factions, locations, weapons and little tidbits such as new radio stations and combat options.

Along with Phantom Liberty, CD Projekt Red is working on a side project about a new Witcher trilogy. Both of the new titles for Witcher have unknown release dates, but we can expect the new planned DLC for Cyberpunk 2077 to be released this summer.
