Ubisoft announces the development of Anno 2070, an RTS game that drives the Anno franchise to a new era, taking players to a world inspired by the challenges of today and the technologies of tomorrow.
Developed by Related Designs in partnership with Blue Byte, Anno 2070 is set in the near future, when wheather changes forces humanity to addapt thier life style because the danger of rising the sea level is eminent. The players need to master new technologies as they face numerous environmental challenges to build their empires. Anno 2070 offers players the chance to be the architect of the future and create the world of tomorrow.
A new era: adhering to the fundamentals that made Anno a successful franchise, setting the near future will bring several new game mechanics, architectural innovations and unprecedented challenges. In addition, players can build huge cities, which was not possible in previous games. The world of Anno 2070 will evolve differently for each player, depending on their style and choices. The decision of the player will have an impact on the environment, the world's architecture, leading the player to refine and better understand the impact of their actions to manage the world's resources.
Moreover, it was reported that there will be two factions. The first is a group of environmentalists called Echoes. Besides them, we have the Tycoons, whose development is focused on technological progress. As for the game modes, there will be a single-player campaign with open world settings, plus an online mode. The developer also promised more news soon. The launch is scheduled for PC and will be released in late 2011.

This one looks very cool. I've played one earlier version where I mostly had to play in icelands. Definitely going to play this one.
I've not played the previous versions, so this is new to me, completely. Although it looks very addictive. Will definitely be keeping an eye on this title.
Interested i am, I wonder if the online would work like, Earth. Contries can Help each other and what not
Multiplayer?...thats like saying Simcity online 0_o
