The strategy audience is a difficult community to cater to as gamers in that category think and execute commands with alarming accuracy. Looking at titles like Darkest Dungeon, XCOM, and Age of Empires will give you an idea of how competitive and tactical these gamers are. Derelict Zones is seeking to give strategy gamers exactly that, something that will challenge even the most dedicated strategy gamer.

Derelict Zones,NoobFeed,

Derelict Zones focuses on diving into the "unknown". Players must attempt to gain a tactical advantage after being washed ashore by completing zones. This won't be easy as the player is outnumbered and outgunned.

Derelict Zones encourages you to think 2 steps ahead. Enemies come in large numbers and with force but the player has the tools to combat this. It comes with proper planning and using the abilities given to you correctly. This includes movement, defending, and attacking. Since enemies can easily kill an ally playing defensively is just as important as attacking.

Derelict Zones,NoobFeed,

Players are given control of 3 Crew Members after a few opening stages, each with a unique card hand. These cards provide access to certain abilities which can be triggered twice per turn. Some abilities are unique and only available for single use during the entire match. With branching specializations for each character that divert into paths.

The animation and artwork have a nautical theme to them and are hand-drawn, resembling that of a board game. With the pieces looking like free-standing figures you would find them in the box. This is also present in the game's cutscenes that all have this intricate detail. This is also shown in each attack animation as the enemy and ally figure executes their action.

Derelict Zones,NoobFeed,

Derelict Zones is envisioned as a short title meant to be played multiple times. With players choosing different class choices and attempting to try different strategies. The current build didn't include the ability to skip attack animations but I was told that's currently being worked on. Derelict Zones does hold a lot of promise to deliver an ideal strategy experience that will challenge long-time fans and newcomers.
