King of Spell centers around base enhancement and area-of-effect damage. This strategy relies on transforming your base into a primary damage source while using other units as resources for enhancement cards. Your base becomes capable of eliminating entire enemy waves with proper upgrades.

Required Perks

To get 20% of hits to hit, you need Ruthless at level 4 and Ingenious at level 3. Ingenious gives you +15 base levels. When you get these bonuses, your base turns into a powerful defense system.

Strategy Execution

Roll for Progress as your opponent and place your base in the backline. Focus exclusively on base upgrades as your primary win condition.

Your base hits in area-of-effect patterns, and you can one-shot dozens or hundreds of enemies with proper perk combinations.

Treat all units, towers, and constructions as resources for Offering and Overhaul cards. Prioritize Overhaul over Offering when both options are available.

Thieves represent the only units worth maintaining as they slow enemy troops and gather them into concentrated areas.

Augment Selection

Select augments that double your base's attack speed. The first such augment is mandatory, while the second provides additional benefits. Alternative augments include Crit chance, Crit damage, Gold generation, and additional Rolls.

During rainbow waves, acquire Temple and enhance it using your tomes while upgrading with Overhaul cards. This combination provides significant late-game power scaling.

Loot Priorities

Target Spell armies for Offering and Base enhancement cards. Progress provides Overhaul opportunities. Greed offers Overinvest and Thief units.

Nothing provides Wildcard flexibility. Rainbow rounds should focus on Temple acquisition. Nature offers Clone abilities. Stone provides Earthworks after year 20, when rainbow rounds typically appear.

Alliance Management

Progress serves as a mandatory ally for this strategy. Nature and Nothing function as reliable friends. You face no particularly problematic enemies and have no absolute restrictions on alliances.

Tips for Success

Units, towers, and other constructions serve primarily as sacrifice material for enhancement cards. Your base becomes your primary and often only significant damage source.

Focus all resources on base enhancement rather than diversifying your army composition.
