AI Limit Guide | How To Beat Ursula (Hunter of Blades)

This guide will teach you how to defeat Ursula, the Hunter of Bladers. You must obtain her nucleus if you want those two secret weapons—the Mercy or the Red Deer. This guide will show you how to get this item and prepare for each stage of the fight.

Recommended Gear

You should equip a weapon dealing with physical, fire, and infection damage to finish the first stage quickly. One great choice is the Holy Embrace, which you can obtain by wearing Wolverine clothes. This weapon scales highly with Technique and Spirit and has excellent Strength for the second stage. It's incredibly powerful and fun to use.

For armor, consider the Corrupted Blader set. Choose one that boosts infection for headgear—this will help you manage the second stage more comfortably. You don't need to use any spells for fights you intend to finish quickly, but you can cast a buff before starting if you want extra damage.

Seal and Spell Recommendations

If needed, you can also equip the Disordered spell for infection damage and extra healing. When it comes to seals, prioritize those that increase your damage output. I recommend focusing on seals that amplify your Fateful attack since this will help you deal massive damage. 

If you prefer extra XP or forgiveness for mistakes, you can use a seal that grants additional experience, but your main goal should be to finish the first stage as fast as possible.

First Stage Strategy

In the first stage, focus on parrying. Parrying turns this fight into one of the easiest encounters, so don't rely on dodging alone. Watch Ursula's moves, and wait for her to commit to an attack before you parry. The parry window is generous, and you'll feel very comfortable with a bit of practice. 

After a successful parry, follow up immediately with a strong attack or your Fateful skill to punish her and deal massive damage. Avoid overextending; she will punish you hard if you attack during her recovery frames.

When you see a red-bar attack, strike if you can safely stagger her. If you need to heal, stagger her first with a parry or block before using a potion—never panic; heal mid-combo. Use your weapon skill to maximize your punishment window and deal continuous damage after she's down.

Second Stage Strategy

Once you enter the second stage, you'll find that Ursula's health melts quickly if you maintain the same aggressive parry-and-punish pattern. Execute your weapon skill whenever she goes down to buy yourself extra time to attack. If you make a mistake, wait for her recovery animation, block or parry, and then continue your punishment. Your infection resistance from armor and Disordered will help you stay stable even if you get infected.

Rewards

After you defeat Ursula, you'll receive her armor and, later, her nucleus. You'll need the nucleus to craft the Mercy or the Red Deer. Finish the fight by eliminating her thoroughly and then claim your rewards.
