Atelier Yumia: The Alchemist of Memories & the Envisioned Land is a massive open-world game that can be difficult to understand at times for newcomers to the genre or the Atelier series. This guide will show you all the best tips and tricks to make your time in Atelier Yumia better.

Use the Gun's Two Modes

You can scan enemies' levels and nearby items with one. You can also use your standard gun to collect distant items and stun enemies for a preemptive strike. Both modes are needed to determine your enemies' strength. Use the gun to preemptively shoot enemies and stun them when you enter battle, giving you a huge advantage.

Gather as Many Materials as You Can

Gather any available materials because they often yield new recipes. Isla has many resources that can be used for side quests, story progression, and item synthesis.

Don't Skip Side Quests

Side quests give a lot of skill points, experience, and special rewards. I recommend completing side quests even if you're more interested in the story and journey because they're great for gaining skill points to upgrade your skill trees.

Synthesize and Craft as Much as Possible

Balance your skill trees between exploration, synthesis, and combat, and use upgrades wisely. Set up a workbench to craft when using the building mechanic.

You can use pre-registered blueprints to automatically build buildings without creating a base.

Find Nearby Shrines, Geysers, and Habitats

These areas contain energy prisms, which unlock skills later in the game, especially those that require more than skill points.

Prayer shrines that require puzzle-solving are worth it for energy prisms. Energy particles from mana geysers are needed for recipe development and recall.

Use Simple Synthesis to Replenish Your Gear

Whether you need a camping kit, bandages for tough fights, or machine kits for repairs, you must balance your needs.

Running out of essentials can be disastrous, so watch your supplies. Explore carefully because simple synthesis requires energy materials.

Combat Tips

Atelier Yumia Beginner's Guide, Combat Tips

  • During battles, position yourself comfortably, especially if the camera is too close.
  • Switch stances based on enemy weaknesses. Close-range attacks weaken some enemies, while long-range attacks weaken others.
  • Create combos and exploit enemy weaknesses by mastering stance switching.
  • A party member's icon indicates you can use an item when enemies are stunned. This is for friend actions.
  • Avoid enemy attacks that glow red and make noise. Perfect dodges let you switch between front and back rows for precise counters.
  • Precision reduces stun, increases damage, and drains and stuns enemies.
  • Party members can be stunned like enemies, so watch them!

Find Nearby Fast Travel Points and Repair Ziplines/Ladders

Atelier Yumia Beginner's Guide, Fast Travel Points

Fast travel points allow you to quickly return to previously visited areas, preventing unnecessary backtracking, especially if you don't own a motorcycle.

  • Zipline repairs speed up travel.
  • Repairing ladders opens up previously inaccessible areas.
  • Puzzles are occasionally required, but these mechanics simplify navigation and are worth it.

Preserve Your Energy Core

Atelier Yumia Beginner's Guide, Preserve Your Energy Core

Falling, entering mana-bound areas, biking, or performing simple synthesis will deplete your energy core.

To reenergize:

Find mana flowers to refuel.

A base energy recharge station can fully recharge your energy core. After depleting your energy core, you cannot activate mana circulators to clear mana-bound areas. Having no energy during combat is dangerous, so charge it! Achieve pioneering effort goals.

Follow the Pioneering Effort Objectives

  • These tasks may require you to:
  • Synthesise specifics.
  • Have a character practice a skill repeatedly.

Do the Pioneering Effort Objectives

These objectives reward you with fishing lures, skill points, and other bonuses. Consider them a checklist for game progression and rewards. They offer new exploration areas, EXP, skill points, and progression.
