There are unique moves in Crisis Core: Reunion that are called Summons. You can use these moves to win tough fights.

You don't have to find them to finish the story, but it will help you a lot. They come in two different types. Some of them are Boss Summons, which are big monsters. Some are animals known as Mascot Summons. These moves are not the same as the ones you get from encountering people.

Boss Summons Mechanics

To get a Boss Summon, you usually have to fight it twice. The first fight happens in the main story. Before you can fight it again, you need to finish a side job.

Once you win the second battle, where the Boss is a bit difficult to fight, you can use that Boss in Final Fantasy VII: Reunion.

Where to Find Each Boss Summon

You can find Ifrit after your first fight in Wutai. This opens a mission called Rematch with Ifrit. For Bahamut, you first fight him in Banora.

Then you must finish a mission called Clash with Genesis Troops to get to the rematch. If you keep doing those same types of missions, you will find Odin in a task called Mystery Materia.

Finding Phoenix is a bit different. In Chapter 9, you must talk to a boy to start a quest called the Seven Wonders in CRISIS CORE - FINAL FANTASY VII - REUNION.

You can then find the item you need at the bottom of the water tower. To get Bahamut Fury, you have to look for a side mission for Yuffie. It is hidden in the northwest part of mission M8-5-6. This path starts in Chapter 4, but the fights can get very difficult early on.
