Bloober's Cronos: The New Dawn, a bold, brutal, and unrelenting return to pure survival horror, is one of the better horror games to have come out in recent times, encapsulating the very essence of horror.
This game is both oppressive and exciting, but it can be difficult at times; this guide will show you how you'll be able to defeat The Unmerged One, a rather tricky first boss.

Use its Weakness
The Unmerged One has a weakness to fire, making the fuel cans surrounding the vicinity a key part in beating the boss. You'll want to lure the boss towards those canisters and shoot to ignite them.

When the boss is on fire, shoot at the glowing yellow pustules that pop up on his body – it's his Achilles heel.
Switch Rooms
When a pustule is destroyed, the boss falls back. This gives you time to switch rooms, look for a room where there are fuel cans, and repeat the process of shooting at the canisters after baiting him into it.
Try using charged shots whenever you can, as they deal more damage. The shotgun is especially useful when paired with this tactic.
I would recommend switching off aim assist for this fight; it may feel restrictive and make it harder to aim at the weaker points more precisely.
If you run out of fuel cans before the end of the fight, bait the boss into using his floor-crawling projectile attack. Destroying them can leave the boss vulnerable for a brief period, allowing you to utilize that window to attack.
By combining these strategies, using fire as a primary way of dealing damage, The Unmerged One can be defeated without much of a sweat.
