Bloober's Cronos: The New Dawn, a bold, brutal, and unrelenting return to pure survival horror, is one of the better horror games to have come out in recent times, encapsulating the very essence of horror.

This game is both oppressive and exciting, but it can be difficult to navigate around; this guide will give you pointers on how you can defeat The Unmerged Terror, a challenging boss that combines a lot of the attacks from the previous bosses, like The Unmerged One.

A lot of this fight can be fairly managed with the smart use of fire and by the use of arena awareness.

To prepare, you'll want to repair the fuel barrel where the boss spawns. I would also recommend placing an incendiary mine; this will immediately trigger a stun.

The Unmerged Terror is also highly susceptible to fire, and the yellow pustules that pop up whenever it's in flame can be shot at to further stagger it.

A flame torch also comes in handy during combat for dealing extra damage and creating openings to regroup and reload. You'll always want to be on the lookout for all the fuel barrels in the vicinity – repair, reignite, and repeat.

There will be a lot of opportunities for you to pick up ammo and supplies throughout, in the crates, and as the fight progresses, more of the arena will open.

You can use this to your advantage to put distance between you and the boss to set up more fuel barrels.

Do keep in mind that the Unmerged Terror can burrow and resurface at the last minute, so you need to be constantly on the move.

Eventually, the boss will collapse, but it does have a second phase. You'll want to utilize the second phase pause interval to acquire ammo and to reposition, place mines, and repair fuel barrels. The boss does become more aggressive, but the strategy remains the same.

Use its fire weakness against it, combine charged shots and flame stuns, repeat, and the boss shall meet its demise.
