Late in the main story of Dave the Diver, Udo assigns you timed tasks that require catching specific fish from the Blue Hole. These assignments must be completed on the same day you receive them. One of the first challenges in this sequence is catching the Horned Parrotfish. This guide walks you through the method and location so you can complete the task correctly.

Catching the Horned Parrotfish

To complete Udo’s request, you must catch the Horned Parrotfish alive. Killing it will fail the mission. This fish behaves aggressively and will attack when you move too close. Attacking from the front is ineffective because its horns block incoming damage. You also cannot use the Net Gun to capture it, as the tool does not work on this species.

The most reliable method is using the Hush Dart. Position yourself so the Horned Parrotfish charges toward you, then quickly move behind it and fire the Hush Dart. If timed correctly, the dart will put the fish to sleep after a short moment. Once it is unconscious, you can safely pick it up and complete the objective.

Horned Parrotfish Location

Udo provides clues to help you find the Horned Parrotfish. According to the task details, it appears around 30 meters deep in the Blue Hole Shallows, close to a Boat Wreckage.

In practice, you can find the fish at roughly 25 meters depth, near the far right side of the Blue Hole Shallows. As you approach the correct area, you will notice a faint sound, and your controller will begin to vibrate. The vibration becomes stronger as you move closer. When you finally locate the Horned Parrotfish, a small green target marker appears above its head, confirming that you have found the correct fish.
