The Spice Ability grants enhanced abilities, including increased damage, additional hit points (HP), HP regeneration, and damage reduction. Activation of this ultimate skill is performed by pressing Z, maintaining its effects for five minutes.

Unlocking the Spice Ability

To unlock the Spice Ability, access the Journal and complete AQL4, the fourth trial of the Ancestral Quest Line (AQL). Completion of the preceding trials (AQL1, AQL2, AQL3) is required as each stage builds toward the final unlock.

Trial AQL1

Travel to the designated location and enter the cave to locate an altar. Upon discovery, inhale the spice to initiate a hallucinatory state and enter a special gameplay area.

Death is not possible in this trial, and checkpoints allow for retries without loss of gear durability or progress. Navigate through the eye puzzle by avoiding the intermittent spotlights until reaching the altar to complete AQL1.

Trial AQL2

Begin at Hagga Base and journey north to Vermillius Gap. Locate the secret cave containing a chest; behind the chest lies a hidden passage leading downward to an altar. Inhale the spice to enter the second trial.

Within this trial, retrieve a scepter and use it to extinguish flames and turn off poison mines, creating a rock bridge that leads to the altar and the completion of AQL2.

Trial AQL3

Proceed to the third trial location and enter the cave populated by numerous AI enemies. Enemies may be bypassed by continuing downward to the broken altar. Interaction with the nearby recorder suffices to complete AQL3, with no spice available at this stage.

Trial AQL4

Travel to the hammer-shaped structure in Vermillius Gap. Utilization of the Shigawire Claw ability, unlocked via the trooper skill line, is recommended for climbing. Upon reaching the structure's summit, interact with the altar to commence the fourth trial.

Retrieve a dagger and enter the arena to face successive waves of combatants. Overcoming these foes triggers the activation of the Spice Ability, indicated by purple glowing eyes.

Using the Spice Ability

Once unlocked, using the Spice Ability increases power, adds health, and lowers damage taken. Because of growing spice intolerance, frequent use leads to a longer cooldown. Consuming Spice Food speeds up the recovery of the Spice Bar, which lets it be used more often.

Additional Tips

The more often the Spice Ability is used, the greater the required cooldown due to intolerance accumulation. Plan activations strategically and supplement with Spice Food to maintain readiness for challenging encounters.
