GTA 6 Ultimate Edition Reveals New Gameplay Features
Rockstar just dropped a load of new information about what you can actually do in GTA 6, and it is a lot more than anyone expected.

Right before GTA 6 pre-orders went live, Rockstar Games pulled back the curtain on everything packed into the Ultimate Edition. On the surface, it looks like a hundred-dollar bundle of cars, weapons, clothes, and activities, but if you actually read through all of it carefully, there are dozens of brand-new gameplay details hiding in plain sight.
Things like fencing stolen goods, fishing, and restoring classic cars are all confirmed through the descriptions alone. You do not have to wait until the November 19 release date to get a sense of what life in Vice City is going to look like.

One of the first things that stands out is the inclusion of gang compounds.
PTT Youngin$'s illegal goods store is described as sitting inside a gang compound, and Rockstar's own wording suggests these function similarly to enemy strongholds or outposts you might find in other open-world games. You raid the compound of one of Southside Vice City's most active gangs, grab special items and distinct contraband, and then get out safely.
PTT Youngin$ might just be one of many of these locations scattered across the map, which would make compound raiding a repeatable activity throughout the game. That contraband you steal ties directly into another confirmed mechanic, which is fencing stolen goods.
The Ultimate Edition's '67 Vapid Dominator Buggy is stored at the Paradise Garage in Watson Bay, and that garage specifically includes a secure spot for depositing stolen goods to be fenced. So it really does look like running some kind of stolen wares operation is going to be a core part of GTA 6. Between raiding compounds and pulling heists, you will presumably be moving a lot of illegal merchandise.
Speaking of heists, the Paradise Garage also comes with a weapon locker. If you have played GTA Online before, you already know what that means. Getting arrested or ending up in the hospital strips you of your guns, so having a stash waiting for you when you get out is genuinely useful. But weapon storage is not limited to garages.
The Shitzu Squalo boat from the Ultimate Edition comes loaded with an explosive-filled weapons crate.
The pre-order bonus '55 Vapid Stanier sedan also has its own weapons locker built in. That car detail is particularly interesting because it echoes the way you stored weapons on your horse back in Red Dead Redemption 2.
GTA 6 is clearly pushing toward a more grounded simulation of everyday criminal life, and functional car trunks fit right into that vision. The Shitzu Squalo also comes with fishing gear, and the GTA 6 website straight up says the boat is perfect for casting in Gambit Bay and reeling in all kinds of catches. Fishing is confirmed.

That also hints at some form of inventory system to actually hold what you catch, and potentially a cooking mechanic further down the line. You can also spot scuba diving equipment on the same boat, which points to underwater exploration making a return. And if water activities are not your thing, Jason has a kayak at his safe house alongside a Dinka Enduro off-road trail bike.
Off-road racing looks like a real activity in GTA 6. Since the Dominator Buggy description name drops the backwoods of Mount Kalaga and even mentions something called the Mud Club, which showed up briefly in the first trailer as a group of truck-loving, muddy enthusiasts. Joining their events could genuinely be a thing. Car culture runs deep throughout all of this GTA 6 information.
One of the Ultimate Edition's exclusive perks is a special commission that has you tracking down abandoned classic cars.
As well as bringing them back to their original condition. Think Forza Horizon Barn Finds, but in GTA form. It could easily turn into a campaign-long side quest. Mod shops are also returning, and they sound more detailed than ever, with customization now extending to car interiors on top of the usual wheels and paintwork options.
Off-road modification packages are also available so you can turn regular cars into proper all-terrain builds. The Ultimate Edition even includes a prebuilt mod bundle called the Retro Build for Jason's Vapid Ganado, suggesting you might be able to buy full themed mod packages rather than just swapping out individual parts. On the character customization side, there is a lot going on, too.
Both Jason and Lucia can get their hair styled, Jason can grow facial hair, and Lucia can get her nails done, all through a place called Sara's Unisex Salon. The screenshots show both characters wearing jewelry and earrings, so the level of detail in how you dress your characters goes pretty deep. The Ultimate Edition also unlocks Electric Fang Tattoo, which offers over 50 designs created by a real Brooklyn-based art collective called FAILE.
That kind of real-world collaboration is not new for Rockstar since they have always pulled in real musicians and comedians for radio and TV content. However, bringing in a real tattoo art collective adds something different to the mix. One of the more interesting Easter eggs buried in the GTA 6 Ultimate Edition content is a set of folded dollar bills visible in a poolside image.

The old man printed on the bill has a beard with a distinct V cutout and a mirrored hairline.
This lines up with President Hardin from Red Dead Redemption 2. That same face appeared on a banknote in GTA Online's The Contract update, so it is not the first time Rockstar has quietly connected these worlds. On top of that, Phil Cassidy was spotted on TV in the second GTA 6 trailer, and the Ultimate Edition includes a pair of revolvers sourced from the Vercetti Estate.
That is the iconic mansion from the original Vice City, and while it does not confirm Tommy Vercetti will appear in person, it does strongly suggest the Vercetti Estate is a physical location you can visit in GTA 6. Rockstar seems to be threading more continuity between its older PS2 era games and the newer HD universe than it ever has before.
Weapon customization also looks far more personal this time around. The Vercetti Estate revolvers each have custom grips, engravings, and unique extras added to them. Jason's version even replicates the Equalizer revolver from Vice City Stories. The level of detail goes well beyond just slapping a silencer on a pistol. It is about building a weapon that actually reflects your character.
Since both Jason and Lucia can carry individually customized weapons, it seems like their loadouts will be separate. And if cars really do work as horses did in Red Dead Redemption 2 as personal weapon storage, then each character probably carries a limited number of guns at a time. That could lead to real tactical thinking before missions, setting up specific builds for specific situations.
The pre-order Vintage Vice City Pack adds even more callbacks to the original game.
The '55 Vapid Stanier is the exact yellow and white sedan that sat outside the Ocean View Hotel in classic Vice City. There is also a weapon skin patterned after Tommy Vercetti's Hawaiian shirt, and Jason's linen suit with rolled sleeves is a clear nod to Tommy's own signature look. The purple trousers in the pack match the shade worn by Tommy's lawyer, Ken Rosenberg. Rockstar is clearly having fun layering in references for longtime fans.
What makes all of this GTA 6 coverage genuinely exciting is that none of it comes from a gameplay trailer or a developer interview. It all comes from reading carefully through the descriptions of a special edition bundle. The fact that so much is revealed just from the Ultimate Edition contents alone says a lot about how dense and layered GTA 6 is going to be when it finally launches on November 19.
